Week of September 28 - October 2

 Hello families,

Language Arts:

We read a story called, Shi-shi-etko and learned about her memories and the special memory bag she prepared before leaving for residential school. Students thought about what they would put in their own memory bag and drew pictures of the people, places, and special things they would want to remember.

Math:

In Math, we continued building our counting skills and explored sorting objects by different attributes. Students sorted emoji faces by attributes such as expression, and other facial features. They had opportunities to explain how they sorted the emojis and share their mathematical thinking.

Science:

We learned about what a scientist is and what an investigation is. After reading the story, "Ada Twist, Scientist" students learned that scientists ask questions, make observations, and investigate to learn more about the world around them. We put this into practice with a fun candy experiment, making observations and thinking like scientists!
